  • Senior Consultant

    Brisbane, Queensland

    Charles Kendall Australia is seeking a highly motivated consultant to work in our Brisbane office. The successful candidate will act in a management consultant capacity and therefore requires a broad skill set, along with relevant experience in procurement and contract management.

    Expectations of a senior consultant are as follows.

    Consulting to clients:

    • Manage simple or moderately complex end-to-end procurement processes by developing documentation, coordinating stakeholders, negotiating with suppliers, and managing risk.
    • Consult to clients to create efficiencies and improve procurement processes, policies, procedures, and tools.
    • Support spend analysis and development of procurement strategies.
    • Undertake detailed review of contracts and offer advice.
    • Support the provision of probity advisory services.
    • Provide post-award contract management support to maximise value for money and ensure performance expectations are met.
    • Interpret policy, legislation and guidance material to provide procurement advice to clients.
    • Draft contract amendments, contract variations, and contract schedules on behalf of clients requiring specialist procurement input.

    For internal activities:

    • Contribute to internal business planning, marketing, strategy development, process improvement and the like.
    • Proactively develop business by identifying and pursing sales leads generated by a variety of channels.
    • Provide support in the preparation of fee proposals.
    • Provide project, team and thought leadership and transfer skills/knowledge to staff.

    Skills and experience: Charles Kendall Australia prides itself on its level of professionalism and endeavours to employ only the best candidates in the market. The successful candidate will have at least three years’ demonstrated experience in the procurement/contract management field and must be able to work largely autonomously in a procurement-oriented role. The successful candidate will also have:

    • tertiary qualification in business, law, commerce, management or related field;
    • a strong understanding of contemporary procurement practices;
    • advanced technical writing skills;
    • superior commercial acumen, problems solving and analytical skills;
    • proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook: and
    • experience managing schedules and risk to successfully achieve project milestones.

    It is desirable, but not critical, that the candidate has:

    • post graduate qualification/s;
    • membership/accreditation to the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent;
    • experience with Microsoft Project and Visio;
    • experience providing probity advice or undertaking probity audits; and
    • experience with e-procurement systems.
